1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of SEZ Africa, operated by MARATTO AFRICA LTD ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

2. About us

SEZ Africa is a product of MARATTO AFRICA LTD, registered in England and Wales (company number 17169961).

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, provide false information, or create security or legal risk.

4. The service

SEZ Africa provides a registry and intelligence platform for special economic zones across Africa, including zone profiles, rankings, comparisons and related tools.

Registry content is compiled from public sources, operator submissions and our verification process. We aim for accuracy but do not guarantee that all information is complete, current or error-free.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform unlawfully or in a way that infringes third-party rights.
  • Scrape, harvest or systematically extract data except as permitted by us in writing.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data.
  • Upload malicious code, interfere with platform operation or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
  • Use the service to send spam or misleading communications.

6. User submissions and claims

If you submit zone claims, profile information, documents or other content, you confirm you have the right to provide it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

You grant us a non-exclusive licence to use, display, store and process submitted content for the purpose of operating, verifying and improving the registry.

7. Intellectual property

The platform, branding, design, databases, rankings methodology and original editorial content are owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual property laws.

You may view and download content for personal or internal business use related to evaluating special economic zones, but you may not reproduce, resell or republish substantial parts of the registry without our prior written consent.

8. No professional advice

Information on the platform is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal, tax, investment or regulatory advice. You should obtain independent professional advice before making business or investment decisions.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the platform or reliance on registry content.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

10. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the platform at any time. We will use reasonable efforts to maintain availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may update these Terms of Use by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
